PlanHitch in ChatGPT and Claude

Connect your PlanHitch wedding to the assistant you already use. Ask it to read a contract, move the running order or add guests, and it changes your real plan, tells you what it changed, and can put it back.

Contents7 sections

What it does

  • Reads your plan: guests and RSVPs, budget, running order, suppliers, and how ready you are.
  • Makes the changes you ask for: guests, seating rules, tables, running order, budget lines and suppliers. It tells you exactly what changed.
  • Undoes its own changes when you say so. Changes you make in the app are never touched.
  • Reviews a contract you paste in: the clauses that cost couples money, what to ask, and the money and dates, shown as a card in the chat. It uses the same review allowance as the app.
  • Searches the PlanHitch supplier directory.

It works with a free PlanHitch account. You need one to connect, because it acts on your own wedding. If you don’t have one, you can create it while connecting.

How to connect

Claude

  1. Open Claude’s settings and go to Connectors.
  2. Find PlanHitch in the directory, or choose Add custom connector and enter https://planhitch.com/mcp.
  3. Sign in to PlanHitch, pick your wedding and choose Allow.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT’s Apps and search for PlanHitch. Where custom connectors are available, you can also add one with https://planhitch.com/mcp.
  2. Sign in to PlanHitch, pick your wedding and choose Allow.

Each connection is to one wedding. If you plan more than one, connect each separately.

Things to try

  • “Here's our venue contract. What should we ask before we pay the deposit?”
  • “The ceremony is moving to 2pm. Move everything after it by an hour.”
  • “Add my aunt Carol and her husband Pete to the guest list, family, both vegetarian.”
  • “Keep Tom and Sophie on different tables.”
  • “We've had a £1,850 quote from the florist. Put it in the budget.”
  • “What's the next thing we should sort out?”
  • “Undo that.”

What it won’t do

  • It can’t see your other weddings, your password or your payment details.
  • It can’t send invitations, emails or messages to anyone, or take payments.
  • It can only do what you can do on the wedding: a collaborator who can’t edit the budget can’t edit it from a chat either.
  • Contract reviews flag questions to raise. They aren’t legal advice.

Your data

When you connect, the assistant receives the parts of your plan it reads to answer you, such as guest names, dietary needs, budget figures and the running order, and any contract text you paste in. OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Anthropic (Claude) handles that under your agreement with them, alongside the rest of your conversation. PlanHitch doesn’t receive your conversation, only the requests the assistant makes to your plan. Read our privacy policy for the details.

Every change made through a connection is recorded in your wedding’s activity, so you and your partner can see what was done and when.

Disconnecting

In PlanHitch, open Settings and find Connected assistants. Choose Disconnectand the assistant loses access straight away. You can also remove PlanHitch from the assistant’s own settings.
