PlanHitch or Bridebook?
Bridebook is a free UK wedding planning app with a large venue and supplier directory, paid for by the venues and suppliers who list on it. Here is what each does, what each costs, and who pays for it, so you can pick the one that suits how you’re planning.
Choose Bridebook if
- You want everything free, with no limit on guests.
- Finding a venue is the main job, and you want a big directory to search.
- You want a free wedding website.
Choose PlanHitch if
- You'd rather the app worked for you than for the venues listed in it.
- You want your venue and supplier contracts read before you pay a deposit.
- You'll send invitations and save the dates on WhatsApp, and want stationery that matches on the day.

Questions couples ask
Is Bridebook really free?
Yes, for couples. Bridebook is paid for by venues and suppliers: its paid plans give a business more visibility in Bridebook's search and recommendations, while a free Limited profile can only be found by searching for its name. That is a fair model, and it is why the couple doesn't pay.
Why does PlanHitch charge when Bridebook is free?
Because the person paying is the person the app works for. PlanHitch has no supplier customers, so it can do things a supplier-funded app has no reason to, like reading your venue contract for the clauses to push back on. There is a free plan with no time limit if you want to try it first.
Can I use both?
Yes. Plenty of couples search for venues on a directory and plan the rest somewhere else. PlanHitch can import a guest list from a spreadsheet, and your first contract review is free whichever venue you find.
