Plan by talking to Your planner

Tell Your planner what's changed, by typing or dictating, and it writes it into your plan: guests, seating, the running order, the budget and your suppliers. It can also remove things, asking first. Each reply lists exactly what it changed, and the latest reply's changes can be undone in one go. It's on Premium and Unlimited.

Works on: Premium (up to 150 messages a month per wedding) and Unlimited (up to 400). On Free, you can describe your wedding in a sentence once when you set up. · Updated 26 October 2026

Open it in PlanHitch

How to do it

  1. 1

    Open Your planner

Select "Your planner" in the sidebar. From any other page, select "Ask your planner" in the corner, or press ⌘J or Ctrl+J. Both open the same conversation.

  2. 2

    Say what you want

Type in the box, or select the microphone to dictate. Say it the way you'd say it to a friend, for example "The ceremony's at 2pm, drinks from 3, and we sit down to eat at half five." Enter sends. Shift and Enter starts a new line.

  3. 3

    Check what changed

The planner replies in a sentence or two. Under its reply, each change it made to your plan is listed. The same changes appear under "Changed in this conversation" on the Your planner page.

  4. 4

    Undo if it's not right

Select "Undo these changes" under the reply, or "Undo" under "Changed in this conversation". Everything that reply changed is put back exactly as it was, including anything it removed.

What you can say

Talk about guests, who can't sit with whom, the running order, the budget and who you've booked. You can give it several things at once, such as "Add my parents, Margaret and David Thomson, and my sister Claire with her partner Sam."

You can also ask questions, such as "Who still hasn't replied?", "Where are we over plan?" or "Which suppliers still need a deposit?". It looks the answer up in your plan.

Keep each message under 4,000 characters. If you go over, it asks you to split it into a couple of messages.

Dictating

Dictation uses your browser's own speech recognition. Your words appear in the box as you speak, so you can correct them before you send. PlanHitch and Anthropic never receive your audio, only the text you send.

The microphone button only appears in browsers that support dictation. In others, such as Firefox, type instead.

What it can change

Guests: add guests and plus-ones, and record a guest's meal choice, dietary needs or allergies, accessibility needs, age group, how they're related to you, or a note.

Seating: record that two guests must or must not sit together, and lay out the room from a description like "twelve tables of ten with a top table" while you have no tables yet.

The running order: add, move, rename or re-time items.

The budget: add lines, change them when a quote comes in or a payment is made, set due dates, and set your total budget.

Your wedding: the date, the region and how many guests you expect. It only sets a date when you give the day, month and year, and the date has to be in the future.

Suppliers: add a venue or supplier you've booked, enquired with or are considering. A venue needs a town or city. It can also search the PlanHitch supplier directory.

Preferences with no field of their own, such as colours, dress code or who's doing a reading, are kept as notes.

Removing things

It can take guests, running order items, budget lines, venues and suppliers off your plan. A guest's plus-one is removed with them. It asks you to confirm first, unless you've just asked it to remove that thing.

It won't remove a guest who already has an invitation on record. Remove the invitation on the Invitations page first.

Removals can be undone like any other change, and what was removed is put back as it was.

How undo works

Each change is written to your plan the moment the planner makes it, and the page underneath updates straight away.

You can undo the latest reply that changed something. Undo puts back every change from that reply together, not one line at a time. Earlier replies can't be undone from the conversation, because that would also sweep up the changes made after them.

Undone changes stay listed, struck through.

Things it can't do yet

If you ask for something it has no way to do, it says so and keeps your request under "Things I can't do yet" on the Your planner page, so it isn't lost. When you've dealt with one, select the tick ("We've sorted this") or the cross ("Take this off the list") beside it.

How ready you are

The Your planner page shows "How ready you are", with an overall percentage and one each for Table plan, Catering, Running order and Music.

These figures are worked out from what's in your plan, not estimated by the AI.

What it asks next

Under "What I'd ask next" is the one question that would most move your plan forward, such as how many tables your venue gives you.

Select "Answer this", then say or type your answer. The question is sent with your answer, so a short reply like "about eighty" is enough. When there's nothing left to ask, it says "I've got everything I need."

The planner also asks the next question itself when the conversation pauses, one question at a time.

Asking from other pages

When you open the planner from another page, it can see that page, so "move this to Friday" or "who hasn't replied?" refers to what you're looking at. The panel shows "Looking at" and the page name. Select it to stop sharing the page, and it changes to "Not looking at this page".

To see the whole conversation with readiness and changes beside it, select "Open the full planner".

Plans and limits

Your planner is on Premium and Unlimited. On Premium you can send up to 150 messages a month per wedding, and on Unlimited up to 400. The count starts again on the 1st of each month, and everything you've planned stays as it is when you reach the limit.

On any paid plan, the planner handles up to 20 messages an hour per wedding.

On Free, the planner panel shows "Your planner is part of the paid plans." with a "See plans" button. You can still describe your wedding in a sentence once when you set up, and PlanHitch builds your plan from it.

The planner can only make the changes your role on the wedding allows. A collaborator who can't edit the budget can't edit it through the planner either.

Who reads your messages

The planner is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Your message, your recent conversation, a summary of your plan and the parts of your plan it looks up to answer you are sent to Anthropic's API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this isn't used to train its models. The privacy policy has the details.

Using PlanHitch from ChatGPT or Claude

You can also plan from ChatGPT or Claude by connecting PlanHitch to them. It can read your plan and make the same kinds of changes, including removals. It works with a free PlanHitch account.

That conversation is separate from Your planner. Undo in ChatGPT or Claude only puts back changes made through that connection, and never touches changes made in the PlanHitch app.

Each connection is to one wedding. To disconnect one, go to Settings and find "Connected assistants".

Questions

Will it change things without asking?

On a clear instruction it makes the change and tells you what it did, because everything can be undone. It asks before removing anything, unless you've just asked it to.

Can it delete things from my plan?

Yes: guests, running order items, budget lines, venues and suppliers. It confirms first unless you've just asked, it won't remove a guest who already has an invitation, and you can undo a removal.

Can I undo something from earlier in the conversation?

No. Only the latest reply that changed something can be undone. To change something older, tell the planner, or edit it on its page.

Does dictation send my voice to PlanHitch?

No. Your browser does the speech recognition, and PlanHitch only receives the text once you send it.

What happens when I reach my monthly messages?

The planner stops replying until the 1st of next month. Everything you've planned stays as it is, and you can keep editing your plan on each page. On Premium, Unlimited raises the allowance to 400 a month.

Is the conversation in the corner panel the same as on the Your planner page?

Yes. Both show the same conversation and the same undo.
