How PlanHitch works
What each part of PlanHitch does and how to use it, step by step. Written from the app as it is today.
Getting started
- Getting started with PlanHitchCreate an account, choose "We're getting married", then add both your names and your wedding date. Everything else in setup is optional. Add your partner's email during setup, or later from Settings, then Collaborators, and they join the same wedding as an Owner, even if they don't have an account yet.
- Plan by talking to Your plannerTell Your planner what's changed, by typing or dictating, and it writes it into your plan: guests, seating, the running order, the budget and your suppliers. It can also remove things, asking first. Each reply lists exactly what it changed, and the latest reply's changes can be undone in one go. It's on Premium and Unlimited.
- Use PlanHitch from ChatGPT or ClaudeYou can connect one PlanHitch wedding to ChatGPT or Claude on any plan, including Free. The assistant can read your plan, add, change or remove guests, running order items, budget lines and suppliers, and review a contract you paste in. It tells you what it changed, can undo its own changes, and you can disconnect it at any time in Settings under "Connected assistants".
Guests and seating
- Add or import your guest listGo to Guests, then Guest list. Choose Add guest to add people one at a time, or Import to upload an .xlsx or .csv file or paste a list of names. You check every row before anything is added. Importing works on every plan, and there is no limit on guests on any plan.
- Make your table planGo to Guests, then Table plan. Add your tables, then drag guests onto seats. On Premium or Unlimited, AI Seat can suggest tables and seat everyone from the groups and rules you've set, or from what you tell it in your own words. You check the result and can undo it.
- Set up your top tableAdd a table and tick Top Table, then mark the guests who should sit there in their seating preferences, or tell AI Seat in your own words. AI Seat puts the two of you in the middle seats and seats the guests you marked around you, family nearest.
Invitations and website
- Send invitations and track RSVPsGo to Guests, then Invitations. Make a design with New design, then use Create invitation to make one for each guest and send it by email or on WhatsApp. Each guest gets their own link and PIN to reply, and their answer updates your guest list. Guests who haven't replied get an automatic reminder email a week before and two days before your RSVP date, unless you turn reminders off. The editor, invitations and reminders are on every plan.
- Set up your wedding website and gift listGo to Website in the sidebar and choose Create website. It fills itself in from your plan and stays a draft until you choose Publish website. The website and gift list are on every plan. Using your own domain needs Premium or Unlimited. PlanHitch never handles gift money: guests give through your own link.
Suppliers and contracts
- Review a venue or supplier contractUpload a contract PDF or paste the text, and PlanHitch reads it for you: a short summary, the clauses that matter, which points to raise, which to check and which are fine, and the money and dates. The review is kept with the venue or supplier it belongs to. Free includes one contract review per wedding, and Premium and Unlimited include unlimited reviews. It is not legal advice.
- Send your venue packThe venue pack puts your run sheet, numbers, table plan and guests' dietary needs into one document for your venue, built from your plan. Go to The day, then Venue pack, to download it as a PDF or make a link to send. It's on every plan. The separate Caterer and All suppliers versions need Premium or Unlimited.
Budget and billing
- Track your budgetSet a target in Settings, then add each cost on the Budget page as you plan it, and record what's booked and what's paid. The page adds it all up by category and shows how the plan sits against your target. Give a cost a due date and PlanHitch emails you a week before it's due. The Budget page is on every plan.
- Plans, trials and billingPlanHitch has a free plan with no time limit, plus Premium (£15 a month or £149 once) and Unlimited (£25 a month or £249 once) for couples. Your first paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial with no card needed. You can switch between Premium and Unlimited on the Plans page, and a couple's paid plan stops by itself 3 months after the wedding.
