Use PlanHitch from ChatGPT or Claude

You can connect one PlanHitch wedding to ChatGPT or Claude on any plan, including Free. The assistant can read your plan, add, change or remove guests, running order items, budget lines and suppliers, and review a contract you paste in. It tells you what it changed, can undo its own changes, and you can disconnect it at any time in Settings under "Connected assistants".

Works on: Every plan, including Free · Updated 26 October 2026

Open it in PlanHitch

How to do it

  1. 1

    Add PlanHitch in Claude

Open Claude's settings and go to Connectors. Choose "Add custom connector" and enter https://planhitch.com/mcp.

  2. 2

    Or add PlanHitch in ChatGPT

Open PlanHitch in ChatGPT (https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6adcaa00a51c819192163bc657ecb58d), or search for PlanHitch in ChatGPT's Apps, and choose Connect.

  3. 3

    Sign in to PlanHitch

You're asked to sign in to your PlanHitch account. If you don't have a wedding set up yet, choose "Set up your wedding" and you come straight back afterwards.

  4. 4

Pick your wedding and allow access

If you can open more than one wedding, choose one under "Which wedding?". Check the list of what the assistant will be able to do, then choose "Allow". You're sent back to ChatGPT or Claude. Choose "Cancel" instead if you change your mind.

What the assistant can read

Once connected, the assistant can read your wedding's overview (the date, guest and RSVP counts, tables, budget totals, suppliers and how ready you are), your guest list, your budget, the running order and your suppliers. It shows the running order as a card in the chat. It can also search the PlanHitch supplier directory by business name.

What the assistant can change

It makes the changes you ask for and tells you what it changed. It can add guests and plus-ones, and record a guest's meal choice, a diet they follow or a food they don't like, their age group, how they're related to you, or a note.

It can record that two guests must or mustn't sit together, lay out your tables while you have none yet, add, move or change running order items, add or change budget lines, set your total budget, set the wedding date, region or expected guest count, and add venues and suppliers.

The free plan's limit of 20 budget lines applies here too.

Removing things

It can take a guest off the list along with their plus-one, and remove running order items, budget lines, venues and suppliers. It's told to check with you before removing anything, unless you've just asked it to.

It can't remove a guest who already has an invitation on record. Remove the invitation on the Invitations page in PlanHitch first.

A removal can be undone like any other change.

Contract reviews

Paste the whole of a venue or supplier contract into the chat and ask what to check. The review comes back as a card listing the clauses worth raising, the money and dates, and what to ask.

It uses the same review allowance as the app: on Free that's one review per wedding, and Premium and Unlimited have no limit. A review that fails isn't counted.

A review done in a chat isn't saved in PlanHitch. To keep a review with the venue or supplier, run it in the app instead.

Reviews flag questions to raise. They aren't legal advice.

Undoing a change

Say "Undo that" and the assistant puts back the most recent change it made through this connection. Ask again to step back through earlier ones. Changes you or anyone else made in the PlanHitch app are never touched by this undo.

Every change made through a connection is recorded in your wedding's activity with the assistant's name, so you can see what was done in "Recent activity" on Home.

What it can't do

It can't see your other weddings, your password or your payment details. It can't send invitations, emails or messages to anyone, or take payments.

It can't read or record guests' allergies, intolerances or accessibility needs. Add those to the guest in PlanHitch.

It acts as you, so it can only do what your role on the wedding allows. A collaborator who can't edit the budget can't edit it from a chat either.

If you ask for something it can't do, it can note the request with your plan and tell you it can't be done yet. You'll find it under "Things I can't do yet" on the Your planner page.

Your data

The assistant receives the parts of your plan it reads to answer you, such as guest names, meal choices, budget figures and the running order, plus any contract text you paste in. OpenAI (ChatGPT) or Anthropic (Claude) handles that under your agreement with them. PlanHitch doesn't receive your conversation, only the requests the assistant makes to your plan.

Disconnecting

In PlanHitch, go to Settings and find "Connected assistants". Each connection you've made to this wedding shows when it was connected and last used. Choose "Disconnect" and the assistant loses access straight away. You can also remove PlanHitch from the assistant's own settings.

Questions

Do I need a paid plan to connect ChatGPT or Claude?

No. It works with a free PlanHitch account. The free plan's contract review allowance and budget line limit still apply.

Is this the same as Your planner?

No. Your planner is the assistant inside PlanHitch, on Premium and Unlimited. The connection lets ChatGPT or Claude work on your plan instead, on any plan. They make the same kinds of changes, but each has its own conversation and its own undo.

Can I connect more than one wedding?

Each connection is to one wedding. If you plan more than one, connect each separately.

Will undo reverse something my partner did in the app?

No. Undo in the chat only puts back changes made through that connection.

Can the assistant send our invitations?

No. It can't send invitations, emails or messages. Send them from the Invitations page in PlanHitch.

Why won't it record my guest's nut allergy?

Allergies, intolerances and accessibility needs aren't recorded through a connection. Add them to the guest in PlanHitch.

How do I stop the assistant having access?

Go to Settings, find "Connected assistants" and choose "Disconnect". It stops working straight away.
